Alumina ceramic tiles with dimple for maximum traction are used for the drive pulley and alumina ceramic flat tiles are used for non-drive pulleys. Tiles are direct bonded to the steel surface using a special formulation high-strength epoxy CUMI-P.BOND.
The result is increased traction, significant reduction in wear and slippage, and increased belt and pulley life. The bond between ceramic and steel is much higher to rubber to steel and the design of the tiles allows for efficient water dissipation. When maintenance is required, localized repairs can be done rather than stripping the whole pulley.
